According to the Tax Law 3842/2010 article 20 § 3 “The tax data of total value one thousand five hundred (1,500) euros or more, issued for sales of goods or provision of services to private individuals, paid by buyers of the goods or services, with debit or credit cards or via bank transfer account as well as by cheques. Payment of these items in cash is not permitted. Banks are not allowed to charge fees for depositing these amounts into bank accounts. In addition the tax data with a total value of five hundred (500) euros or more, which is issued for sales of goods or provision of services to Businesses, are paid by their recipients, buyers of the goods or services, by bank, by debit or credit cards or through a bank account and by cheques. Payment of these items in cash is not permitted. The banks are not allowed to charge fees for depositing these amounts into bank accounts. Therefore, orders with a value of more than 1,500 euros (including taxes and other charges) to private individuals or 500 euros to businesses, should be paid either by credit card or by depositing into a bank account.
